The Basilisk Gate is a historic landmark and standard vacationer vacation spot within the metropolis of Verona, Italy. The gate is positioned on the japanese entrance to town and is without doubt one of the most well-preserved examples of Roman structure in Verona.
The gate was constructed within the 1st century AD and was initially often called the Porta Borsari. The gate was renamed within the Center Ages after a statue of a basilisk that was positioned on prime of the gate. The statue is claimed to have protected town from evil spirits.
