In most tabletop role-playing video games, initiative is a system used to find out the order during which combatants act throughout fight. Within the fifth version of Dungeons & Dragons (5e), initiative is rolled as soon as in the beginning of fight, and the ensuing quantity determines the order during which creatures take their turns.
To calculate initiative in 5e, every creature rolls a d20 and provides their Dexterity modifier to the end result. The creature with the best complete goes first, adopted by the creature with the following highest complete, and so forth. Ties are damaged by rolling a d20 to see who goes first.
