Switch paper is an important instrument for tattoo artists, because it permits them to switch their designs from paper to pores and skin. That is a necessary step within the tattooing course of, because it ensures that the design is positioned appropriately and that the strains are clear and exact.
There are two essential forms of switch paper: spirit switch paper and stencil switch paper. Spirit switch paper is coated with a layer of alcohol-based resolution, which is then transferred to the pores and skin when the paper is pressed in opposition to it. Stencil switch paper, however, is coated with a layer of carbon, which is transferred to the pores and skin when the paper is traced over with a pen or stylus.
