Clifford’s Tower is a medieval citadel in York, England. It is among the metropolis’s most well-known landmarks and a preferred vacationer vacation spot. The tower was constructed by William the Conqueror in 1068 and was initially often known as the Tower of York. It was renamed Clifford’s Tower within the twelfth century after Roger de Clifford, who was executed there in 1190.
The tower is a Grade I listed constructing and a Scheduled Monument. Additionally it is part of the York Metropolis Partitions, that are a UNESCO World Heritage Website. The tower is open to the general public and affords beautiful views of York.
